JULY 6 • HOW TO BETTER LOVE YOUR WIFE • WEEKLY THOUGHT…
Tell Her, “I Love You” as Often as She Can Stand It!
Beloved,
“I love you.”
This is still one of the simplest things a husband can do… and still one of the most neglected.
We assume it. We feel it. We think she knows. But love that is only assumed slowly goes quiet, and quiet love starts to feel like distance over time.
So say it. Often.
Tell her “I love you” in the morning, not rushed and not mechanical, but present and intentional. Say it during the day as well—maybe a quick call or text just to remind her she is on your mind. Say it when you get home… because that moment of return matters more than we usually realize. And say it before bed, letting the day close the same way it began.
And honestly… say it more than that if you want to. You will not wear out something that is real.
A wife does not live on what a man feels but never says. She lives on what she actually hears, what gets spoken into the ordinary rhythm of the day. Those words land deeper than we think… and they stay longer than we think.
God does not leave husbands guessing on this. He gives the charge plainly: “Husbands, love your wives” (Ephesians 5:25). Not as a theory to admire, but as a way of life to practice. Day by day. Ordinary day by ordinary day.
Love is not only something carried privately in the heart. It shows up where she can hear it, where she can feel it, where it actually reaches her. There is a kind of man who believes one declaration covers a lifetime. “I told her I loved her when we got married, and I will let her know if anything changes.” Funny… until you realize how many homes quietly drift on that assumption.
Don’t drift there.
Start simple. Stay consistent. Say it again tomorrow… and the next day after that. If it feels awkward at first, good. Most good disciplines do. And if you need to, write it down, text it, leave a note somewhere she will find it. Whatever it takes. The method is not the point. The expression is.
Let it become part of the air in your home… something normal, something steady, something she never has to wonder about.
Prayer: Lord, make my love for my wife steady, visible, and spoken. Remove assumption from me and replace it with faithful expression.
Walk with the King today… and make sure your bride hears your heart.
Blessings,
Royce
